The Scallon Ater Project

The Scallion Ater project took off! By Artist Michael Fortune with local residents! The Tullow Road area took ownership over Carlovians being called Scallion Aters which coincided with the wonderful achievement of Carlow in the GAA – Michael designed a logo and badges shot out!! Michael along with local residents worked from the Library in Carlow, worked with the schools in the local area to sow scallion seeds over the summer, local residents pitched the ideas also at the national event Bloom in the Phoenix Park thanks to Carlow Tourism and with Carlow Regional Youth Services John Sweeney Park House after schools group and Take A Part Carlow were pitched up with the Scallion Ater project at the Kandle event in Carlow College grounds with thanks to Chris, Mary and Lisa the seeds were well sown in the area to take ownership of the Scallion Ater again!!
