Beyond “the Old Tullow Road” project with Michael Fortune

Beyond the Old Tullow Road formed part of artist Michael Fortunes yearlong residency with Take A Part Carlow. During this time our Arts Action Group went about working to create a project with Michael for the Tullow Road Area and its residents focusing on folklore, history and memories new and old of local residents. In his project work, whether it be singing, mapping, walking or talking, people come together, experiences are shared and dots are joined. Michael has an incredible ability to capture moments where story, character and place remain true to themselves. Part of this project included a dedicated Old Tullow Road Facebook page where Michael shared all of his footage, images and stories collected throughout the residency.
